Words from the heart: Motherly words of wisdom and love.

Shoutout to everyone on my Facebook page who gave feedback saying they prefer to scroll through a series of images instead of click through a slideshow. Scrolling it is! Though I couldn’t resist myself, I put a mini slideshow in my sidebar because I couldn’t choose just one of these to feature over there.

If you’ve been hear a while you know that 1. I love taking photos of my kids and 2. I love taking those photos (and videos) and turning them into something unique.

A few years ago I started a 365 photo project with my daughter, taking a photo of her a day, and writing words of wisdom, or little love letters for her. I created a little link to it in my sidebar if you missed it.

Shortly after I completed that project, I was asked to do a similar 365 photo project on a parenting blog. That space no longer exists, so now I’m bringing that project here, where it belongs, and renaming it Words From the Heart: Motherly  Words of Wisdom and Love.

Your first car! And if I had it my way it would be your last #wordsfromtheheartI did six months of photos, so I’m considering finishing out the other six months with my son so he can have a similar love letter book, or combine it into one for the both of them. Still thinking that through. I’m not even sure if he’ll appreciate a project like this like I would, but I guess it’s better to do it anyway in hope that he does rather than not do it, and he feel left out or less-loved when he’s older.

The fun thing is they’ll be close to the same age in these projects, so it’ll be cool to compare their features and personalities.

I believe it’s so important for us to let our kids know how much we love them. I know there will be times when they don’t think I do (because really, don’t all kids feel that way at some point when they’re freaking out?) but I’m hoping a little book on their shelf in their room, can give them little reminders of how much I truly love them.

And who knows, maybe it’ll even work as fun motherly advice trick when they don’t feel like hearing it form my mouth.

I’ll be sharing 7-10 of these a week, and rotating the ones you see in my sidebar, which will link back to this section of my blog. I’m hoping to weave in new ones with my son as well.

Feel free to share this series, join in yourself, with your own advise and photos for your kids, pin them on Pinterest, share on Instagram,  Tweet  me, whatever! I wanna see them! Use hashtag #WordsFromTheHeart so we can find them. Are you excited? Get excited!

I’ll write up a post about how I make them, and how you can even do them from your cell phone.

It's not easy keeping things away from you. #WordsFromTheHeartYou can act as silly as you want around me. #WordsFromTheHeart An important early lesson. Motherly words of wisdom and love. Motherly words of wisdom and love. #WordsFromTheHeart I agree, more of you would be AWESOME! #WordsFromTheHeart
Take a new plunge every now and then. #WordsFromTheHeart

Sweet! I can’t wait for the post on how to create the letters. I have taken a picture of our son everyday but I don’t know how you have created these letters so I can do the 365 project for him too. My default is to use Microsoft publisher but it is quite a lengthy process. I’m looking forward to your tips. The 365 project is so unique and since I like scrapbooking this is a great project for me.

These are beautiful! Thanks for sharing your special moments

I definitely agree that it’s important for us to let our children know how much we love them. These are going to be great for J and T to look back on when they’re older and to share with their future children.

I love this. I can’t wait to do something like this for Dominic. It may not be 365 days a year – but I love the idea of using all my favorite photos of him thus far and putting words of wisdom on them for a little book. I think that would be so fun. Can’t wait to get started!!!

Brooke Evan says:

Great idea. Thanks for sharing this great idea. I will definitely do something similar as well. I have heaps of great photos of my kids and this is a good way to display them rather than filed away on some storage device.

I’ve been thinking of doing a 365 or 52 week challenge when Chunks turns 5 in August, maybe this would be the perfect thing! You come up with the best prompts!

Asking questions are genuinely nice thing if you are not understanding something fully,
however this article provides pleasant understanding yet.
