Toddler Valentines Fashion and Treats
This will be Lil’ J’s second Valentines Day but her first one at a school. So because this is also a significant “first” I want to make it special and do the whole Valentines shebang for her class.
Good news is I have Mondays and Tuesdays off, which Valentines Eve and Valentines Day fall on this year. So it’ll give me a chance to pretend like I’m an awesome Suzie Homemaker and make treats with her, for her class.
Here are a few ideas I’ve been scoping off Pinterest:

There’s more where that came from, and cute outfits I want to try to make on my Mini Love board. The suckers seem like they involve more drawing/writing than cooking, which is good, and it has traditional candy, but I don’t know what all of the parents will think about the candy. Cupcakes on the other hand… that’s not so bad right? And whoopie pie (is that seriously what those things are called?)! Yum! I can just picture the messy hands and smiling faces chowing down on those things. But I have a feeling it wouldn’t be the easiest to make, or shape as cute as the ones pictured.
The crayons are just perfect, and I think I’ll do that for the cute factor, and have Lil’ J help me put them in heart-shaped pans. Maybe I’ll do those and the whoopies since we’ll have a pan to make those shapes and she loves “cookin” (she says this now when we’re in the kitchen and she wants to put something in the oven. I can’t believe she’s my child).
When it comes to clothing, we’re getting there. I was hoping she’d wear Valentines outfits to school from mid-January through Valentines Day but that hasn’t quite happened. I’ve only had time to make her one dress so far so I’ve called on reinforcements.
Lil’ J’s first tutu was from Cutie Pa Tutu, and now dozens of tutus later, I still haven’t seen any made like hers. We got these this week and the first thing she said when she saw them was “BALL” (in her thick country accent it sounds more like “bawl”) cause of the the little puff balls enclosed inside the tulle.
When she walked into school wearing this her teachers squealed and said they were wondering when she was going to start showing up in all of her Valentines gear.
All she wanted to do was blow bubbles when we were outside and I couldn’t get her to set the dang thing down. She did take a break from blowing bubbles to blow me a kiss though.

Honestly, we have no plans. Sad, I know. Maybe DH and I will get a sitter one night and go to dinner. but not ON Vday. I hate the crowds of restaurants on holidays..
I am making heart cookies and white chocolate covered pretzels with Valentines sprinkles for my daughters class, and have all kinds of art projects pinned for my kids to make for Daddy! I have these fantastic glitter hearts and words that say “Love” That I always decorate the house with after the kids go to bed on valentines eve…then heart shaped pancakes, heart sandwhiches and everything pink and red! Valentines is one of my favorite holidays to make special for my kids…Whether or not my husband and I do anything, I want to make my family feel loved!

We are going out to dinner to the Cheesecake Factory on Valentines Day, hoping it won’t be too crowded since its on a weekday. Otherwise, you might have inspired me to make some treats for my daughters daycare!
We plan on having double dates with our kiddos( daddy and his girl, mommy and her prince)… We did that last year and have a great time. Also, I plan on spending the day showing my family how much they mean to me.
I’m hoping my husband takes me out got a hot date! But not holding my breath 🙂
I’m so loving the crayon heart idea b/c we all have had our fair share of broken bits of crayons that fussy kids no longer want to use.
I have no plans for V-day. We have no sitter so hubby and I will have to wait it out. Sigh.
You’re so good. Me, I bought the packaged valentines and called it a day. I admire you and your creativity.
Valentine’s day plans: I bought the kiddos heart shaped plastic containers (dollar bin at Target!) and bought candy, Vday hairbows, tights and fun stuff to put in them. Dinner with the hubby too!
We’re doing the crayon hearts on Pinterest as well. So cute!
I am planning on dressing both girls (2 and 5 months) in their outfits and getting one good-ish picture! then loving on them. I just got a promotion at work which means more work but I do it for them! We only have 1 tutu that is too small for girl 1 and too big for girl 2… I hope I win this adorable thing. (ps: also headed to do some post v-day shopping at Target…that place ROCKS!)
Not entirely sure, but so far I got my husband a card that says I love you more than nail polish (i collect it). So I am hoping he thinks that is funny. 🙂
Thanks for your comment the other day, and it was lovely to meet you! I was reading about you and saw that you used to be on the news in St. George. Since that’s where I’m from, I wonder if that’s why you look familiar to me…I’ll admit I didn’t watch a lot of local news, though.

I actually made the rainbow crayons last week, we’re celebrating this year by hosting events at a couple family entertainment centers here in the city, so fun! Can’t wait! 🙂
Well, have none yet. Probably bake something special for hubby and get something for kids.

No special plays for V-day, aside from spoil my girl with treats and heart shaped eggs in a basket (via pinterest lol). My daughter and I did make the crayon hearts last week. So much fun!

We don’t have Valentine’s plans yet other than volunteering at my daughter’s first grade Valentine’s party! I am in charge of the craft and have a few ideas so far thanks to Pinterest.

My boyfriend is planning the most romantic night in history. I have asked for it to remain a suprise because I love suprises. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with to dazzle me.
Well this Vday my Husband and our 2 girls Daddy will be in Afg where he has been since Sept and will be till June:( So we made him a GREAT VDAY box that included Jar Cakes;) For our girls I am TOTALLY thinking about making those crayons posted above!!! I think that is the cutest idea!!! And totally affordable and managable to make one or two for her my kindergarteners class<3 Would love to win a vday outfit for one of my girls, especially since our last name is..... LOVE<3

We made those heart crayons at church this year and the kids loved it. Very fun!
