The 100th Post

Wow this came too soon! Well, not too soon, but sooner than I thought. I started this blog just a little more than 3 months ago. Man… And I’ve hit 100 posts already? Am I driving you crazy yet? I hope not! I’m really having fun with this blog and I imagine it’ll be a fun keepsake for me once I have spawn and they are old enough to read and develop an interest of knowing where they came from before they were even a twinkle in my eye. Hmm… Then again, maybe I won’t want them to know this side of me.

Most of all I’ve enjoyed connecting with you all. Your comments are inspiring and sooo informative. They’re NEVER too long (yes, even if they’re longer than my initial post). I read every one and read all of your blogs and websites as well so please, don’t stop!

Anywhoo, in honor of my 100th post and my love for you all, I’m going to give away a gift. But this isn’t any ordinary gift… This is something I wanted to keep, but why? So my husband can stare at me, and my collection of future baby stuff and laugh? No… I don’t need any more of that, so I’m going to give it to YOU!

Want to know what it is? It’s an ADORABLE infant headwrap! My poor kids. I hope I have girls but even if I do I fear they’ll be destined to wear pink on a daily basis…Not only that but pink things with flowers, things like these from Born 2 Impress! Jenniffer Powell owns the company and all of the stuff is handmade. She found my blog and decided to sponsor this giveaway!

As you can probably tell from my blog, pink is my favorite color so this Pink with a Green daisy wrap is something I would LOVE to use on my baby girl to decorate her all up for pictures or something! It’s hand sewn together so it won’t come apart, the flower is also hand sewn together and it has a pretty green rhinestone to top it all off!

So you get an idea of the size, the silk daisy is about 4″ wide. I’ve seen a lot of my friends with little girls have these cute things for baby pictures! Now your little girl/ future little girl or a friend of your’s little girl can have one too!

This is what you have to do to enter:

For one entry all you have to do is leave a comment here giving me a piece of motherhood/pregnancy advice.

**For extra entries:

1. If you’re not a follower already become a follower of my blog and/or Twitter: @babymakinmachin. And if you’re new to following me, don’t worry, I try not to be boring.
2.
Let me know a topic you’d like me to write about
3.
Let me know some cute boy accessory items so I can be excited to maybe one day have a boy.
4. Twitter about this contest or post it on Facebook, your blog or something of that sort and post another comment letting me know! You can leave a seperate comment for each for extra entries.

*Also, check out Born 2 Impress and let me know a MUST HAVE for my future little girl because Lord knows I’m a sucker for all of this cute stuff that’ll give you an extra entry as well! :o)

The contest ends: March 28th Good luck!

Thank you to Sweeties Sweeps for listing my blog giveaway.

Congrats on your 100th post :)and awesome giveaway 🙂 I love L. Pink Giant Brown Dots Bow Big Gilrs Classic Headband!

Hmm some advice 🙂 always trust your instincts 🙂 trust me Mommy can feel a lot more about what’s good and what’s bad for her child than she gives herself credit for 🙂

Dev says:

Happy 100th Post!
I love the Purple and Pink TOTE with the lavender bow. It would be perfect for my little princess and yours to use to carry around the books and toys she can’t part with when we leave the house.

Dev says:

I’d have to say the best advice I can give is to always do what you feel is best for your child and don’t listen to what other people/the world says is best. Your heart will always lead you in the right direction. You are their mommy and you know best!

Also, as soon as you find our you are having a baby, start buying diapers every trip to the grocery store. You’ll need a lot and it makes it easier when the baby arrives and you don’t have to buy them all at once. 🙂

Mommy Bee says:

You should post about birthday planning–as in, what’s a good month to plan a baby, vs a bad month (or is there such a thing). I’ve been thinking on this a great deal lately, LOL!!

As for cute little things for boys…well, here are a few

(can you tell i just have boys?!)

Mama Seoul says:

I love Trumpette Socks for boys or girls. They are really cute and stay on. They are especially great for boys because they can really jazz up a boring outfit.

Shoes are great for boys as well:

I just had my girl so exploring the world of bows and headwraps is going to be lots of fun!

Natalie says:

Cute! OK, I’ll definitely end up gifting it and no one I know is having girls lately — just tons of boys, but I have like 15 preggo friends, so it will go to waaay good use!

Samaria says:

I would love to enter but I don’t think my boys would love to wear it! 🙁 lol

Brittanie says:

Okay, for the baby accesories, I would have to say those cute little hats because you can put ribbons in them or the flower on them. I don’t really have a particular favorite. All the ones on that site are adorable. But, I am a fan of pink as well, and something with pink in it is always fun for little girls.

Brittanie says:

As far as baby advice goes, I would say, for your pregnancy and after the baby, write everything down. You’ll prob. find this easy since you already love to write/blog, but if you don’t write it down, in detail, you’ll forget it in a second! Every little noise or baby movement, or sickness you have or aversion to food you will look back and laugh at and it is SO fun. Keeping a record of your weight and doctor’s visits is also cool to have.

Brittanie says:

and as for boy accessories, my faves are little shoes and hats. I love Osh Kosh clothing and anything from Gymboree or the Gap. They have the CUTEST little boy clothes and accessories!

Beth says:

Don’t need the hats as my kids are past that stage but just wanted to drop in from SITS and say hi!

Carla says:

Add me in! Thanks SITSA!

Pink Giant brown dots would be my pick!

Lolli says:

I’d love a brown bow beanie for picture-taking! They are so cute!

Sig says:

I MUST win this.
Pick me. Choose me. Love ME.
I follow you.
And frankly, you must get a purse. My 2 yr old has about 20 of them. Then again, she also has over 300 bows.
I am sick.

Sig says:

My next entry is advice.
Sleep now. I am sure you have heard that before.
Second advice, take lots of pics, you’re hips will never be this small again.

Christy says:

Your blog is absolutely amazing. I’m so glad I found it!!! The one piece of advice I give all my friends who are on their way to motherhood is to always be honest with your children. If they ask what thunder is, don’t tell them it’s the angels bowling, give them an actual real explanation. They appreciate the honesty. 🙂 You will be a great mother.

Jennifer says:

My advice- Breath! Don’t let anyone tell you the way that YOU need to do things. It’s your baby and you know what’s best. Sleep when baby is sleeping. Cry when baby is crying! Enjoy every second, it goes by fast.

Elle's Mom says:

My advice, cherish every second you spend with your child. I know one day my baby won’t want to snuggle or let me hold her anymore. I find myself rubbing my cheek against hers and telling myself – remember what this feels like! I don’t ever want to forget that feeling 🙂

Thank you for the giveaway! Happy Spring Fling!

jenjen says:

Adorable head band! I love it!

Thanks!

Jen

Marisa says:

First of all – that is so cute! It would be darling on my girl.
Advice, huh… When you have kids, cherish every moment, it goes by too fast.

yipee!! enter me in babe! All of the comments have been so good, what could i possibly add?? I say to love love love every moment, it goes wayyy too fast. Thanks for the fun contest!

jenny says:

wow how cute please add me in on this i well just found your blog to day

Shannon says:

My advice for when you try and conceive is read the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It is an awesome book, and a great opportunity to know your body & learn how to give yourself the best opportunity to achieve pregnancy.

Michelle says:

My motherhood advice is to not take all of the advice so seriously! It’s easy to get caught up in what everyone else thinks, but the most important thing is to do what is right for you and your family! Thanks for the chance to win.

Jaime says:

Congrats on your 100th post! I just did my 50th post today and I’m giving away a gift card on my blog so come check it out. I’d love to win your giveaway! My advice would be to document everything as best as you can during the first year with lots of photos videos and journaling, the latter I’m sure you’ll have no problem with at all! My trio are almost 9 months old and it has gone by so fast and I wish I had more documentation as it’s been a whirlwind!

My best advice for babies is a little trick I learned for feeding a sleepy baby. When the baby starts to nod off during feeding time and you want them to eat a little bit more, you can pump their arm or leg up and down like a water pump. It totally works! Something about it makes them start to drink again.

I’m following on twitter, @MomMostTraveled

I have two little boys, and I love dressing them like little men with clothes from Baby Gap. I also have classic black converse all-stars for both of them, I get lots of compliments for those little shoes.
There is a company called Jazzy Toes that sells the little novelty baby socks, and they have baby socks that look like wingtip shoes! So cute!

Congrats on your 100th post! I’m a follower.

Hmmmm advice on parenting, both of mine are in college. Be consistent and trust your instinct. Always remember: When it comes to raising kids, the easy way is seldom the right way.
Enjoy your Sunday!

Just checked out Born to Impress, what a cute shop. I love the head wraps, the one you have pictured is my fav. Stop by my place and enter to win a sexy bliss bag – lingerie and body products.

Jessica says:

My advice is to take what others (IE strangers in the grocery store) say with a grain of salt. Everyone has an opinion to dish out and sometimes they just really miss the target 🙂

Rachel Ann says:

Way cute…can I still be entered if I have no advice? I’m not a mom nor have I been pregnant!

Andrea says:

This is what I wish someone had told me when I was a new mother–when your newborn won’t sleep through the night, and wants to feed every two hours, and it seems like you have to change his/her diaper every ten seconds, and you just feel SO overwhelmed…it will get better! It won’t always be so overwhelming.

Andrea says:

My favorite thing for little boys is those little suits that come complete with a little vest and bow tie and everything. They’re adorable!

My advice is to listen to your body – not to what everyone tells you. Especially when you are pregnant and a new mom. Your instincts will let you know what’s best for you. Oh, and every diaper of a newborn – especially if breastfed – is poopy!

My favorite things for little boys are stripes. There is something so adorable about a little boy wearing stripes!

Pregnancy/motherhood advice:

Don’t over-think it!!!! I have a VERY bad habit of doing this myself… doubting the inner guide (Holy Ghost, intuition, and precognition) in favor of the rational. Big mistake. Currently I’m troubling with this with regard to conception of our next addition! Obviously, easier said than done!

Okay, something to write about- “Who would you like to have with you in the delivery room?” This can become a HUGE issue between you and the inlaws (sorry, but I just did not want my father in law, brother in law, sister in law and all their kids in there as I was trying to breath and focus and it caused some major upset between us! They just expected they’d all be allowed in and wanted to stay ALL DAY in that little room)
Boys are SO cute. They become like your little buddy! I have one of each (boy & girl) so best of both worlds, there. Boys are fun (and I’m hoping, easy during the teenage years)
Best advice I can give you – have as much fun and get as much sleep as you can before baby!

jenny says:

wow how cute add me in on this one

dr_bristow says:

That is adorable! Hmm, baby advice…start reading to your baby while they’re a baby, and keep doing it throughout their childhood, a LOT. It will make it so much easier for them to learn to read, spell, and write, and they will have a much larger vocabulary because of being read to. 🙂

dr_bristow says:

Ok, I’m following you on twitter (anb1122)

dr_bristow says:

Ok, so now for the must have…everything on that site is so adorable, so besides just saying everything is a must have, if I had to pick just one thing I’d say the infant teddy bear crochet hat with pink flower, because that hat has a strap/tie under the chin, so if your baby doesn’t like hats and tries to pull them off constantly (some babies do that!) you’ll be able to fasten the hat on when it’s really cold.

Liz&Meg says:

cute headbands! i would love one!
advice? don’t let anyone talk you into thinking you need a baby sooner than you really do.

Melinda says:

my advice is eat what you want! babies like ice cream the best LOL

Congratulation on the 100th post wish you many more posts.

Susieqtpie says:

Congrats on the 100th post! I love your blog. My mommy advice is just don’t rush anything. Let things happen as God intends. Don’t rush any stage of your life, your up and coming pregnancy if it is Gods will and then every stage of baby! They grow too quickly as well as our life zooms by! Step by step!

Susieqtpie says:

I’m following your blog and i’m done with makin’ babies! It is beautiful

Michelle says:

My piece of pregnancy advice: stock up on paper plates and utensils right before the baby is born. We didn’t do dishes for 2 months after we had my son.

My favorite things for little boys are stripes. There is something so adorable about a little boy wearing stripes!

Adsense is actually a really great program for those
who maintain blogs, as blogs get updated all the time and
the Adsense possibilities are almost limitless. In addition, the observing surgeons could transmit their comments to the operating surgeon, who could read them on the Google Glass monitor.
But it seems Memorial Day wasn’t important enough to Google.
