Lil’ J has loved swings since she first learned to sit up. The higher we pushed her the harder she’d laugh.
The other day we made a quick stop at the park because I was doing some filming for work, and she noticed a swing!
I’ve been trying to teach her how to swing by herself for months but she refused to really give it an honest try. I taught her how to swing on her stomach, and that worked for a hot second until she decided that was lame.
I told her we didn’t have time for swinging, but she didn’t take no for an answer. I gave her a push and walked away and a couple moments later I notice she was swinging by herself!
I already had my camera out but decided instead of taking pictures I’d record some video of it. And of course I couldn’t just leave it at that.
I may suck at scrapbooking, and not be good at turning photos into some marvelous keepsake but by golly, I can whip up a video.
Here’s the first of what I hope will soon become a regular (for special occasions like these) video love letter series.
I made two versions, slightly different. One, with her name, just for her, and this one. I’m sharing cause #1 she’s freakin’ adorable and the world could use a little more sunshine like this and 2. I’m hopeful it’ll inspire other parents to get creative with journaling. You don’t hafta be Martha Stewart and crafty to make something cute.
I did this all by myself with no professional equipment. If you have questions let me know, I’d be happy to share some tips.
Oh, and I know her hair is a wild mess in the video but I promise we did it the next day. See, here’s a photo to prove it.
