I just want to say thank you

I was fiddling through my FaceBook page the other day when I realized how long I’ve been at this thing. It’s really incredible when I think about it. I started this blog nearly six years ago.

Blogging has changed SO much since I started. I had no idea there was a plethora of mom blogs when I began. I thought it was just a way for friends and random stumble-uponers to find my space.

Back then I was writing about my dreams to become a mother some day. Now I have two freaking kids. How in the world did that happen?

Two of the world's cutest kidsI’ve seen so many friends enter and leave the blogging realm in their own space, some still keep at it, and others still are just beginning. When I first started I had so much extra time to browse other blogs, comment, read my favorites daily, and post about 30 times a month myself. Now I think back to those days and laugh at all the dang free time I had on my hands.

I remember once having a feeling of boredom. I don’t remember what that feels like.

Occasionally I’ll stumble upon an old comment, or email, or message on facebook, and I’ll recognize a name of someone who is still around… After all these years!

Then there are others who are just discovering this little place I call my own, and they’ll send me a note. I try to reply to each and every one but if I’ve missed you please know I appreciate your words.

Some of you I know in real life, some of us chat on Twitter or facebook, others I probably haven’t a clue who you are but you know what? That’s ok!

I don’t say it enough, but thank you. THANK YOU for coming. Thank you for reading, my arguments with my husband. Thank you for listening to my confessions, for not throwing up when I showed you photos of my fugly cankles, and for leaving comments when you have the time. I love knowing when you’ve stopped by, and it really makes my day.

As I’ve mentioned recently, I am trying to evolve this space into being something more. Something helpful for you I hope. If you’ve been here longer than 30 seconds you know I’m no homemaker. I am terrible at cooking, and I can’t teach you how to make that outstanding Easter Bunny Poinsettia. But you also know I love taking too many pictures, videos, and asking a lot of questions. I can teach you what I know about preserving memories, making a history for your family, and making it extraordinary. It’s basically my new mission in life.

All that will be coming as soon as I learn how to champion my blog with a little butt in my face. But for now I just want to say thank you!

Thank you with a butt in my faceHave you been here long? Take a second and say hi!

Hi! I’m not sure I’ve ever commented (I’m sorry!) but, I’ve been reading since I was pregnant with my first in 2009. Now I also have two and it’s so hard to believe! Thanks for providing some much needed insight into the world of two littles.

Lisa, trust me, I totally know how it is being short on time, or reading and running. Thanks so much for your sweet comment today! It means a lot to know we’ve been in this journey together!

Awww you are so welcome Jennifer! But THANK YOU because you are one of my absolute favorite blogs to visit! I have been following your blog since I got pregnant last year. This is my fave statement of your blog post today: ‘I can teach you what I know about preserving memories, making a history for your family, and making it extraordinary. It’s basically my new mission in life.’ I want you to know Jennifer that because of your memory documentation, you have so inspired me to document our first time as a family for the first time this year. I have too many pictures of our son and he is only 4 months!!! Thank you dearly for teaching me this mission of documenting memories. I can’t wait to look back at all that God has allowed me to capture due to Him using you to give me that boost. I am thrilled to share with my husband every once in a while all of our lives together in a capsule of a photograph. I will always be inspired by your blog and I am so glad for the renewed passion that you have with every post. I can tell that you are making an impact not only to all of the masses but also unto yourself as well. Keep sharing, being bravely transparent, and showing the world your awesome techniques at making memories. Your blog is amazing!!!

Juzanne you just made my day! I’m so very glad you’ve been documenting your journey! It’s so important and I know we, and our families (and even future generations) will enjoy this some day. Most of all I know I will cause there is just too much cuteness that I want to savor forever.

Thanks for making my day with your sweet comment!

I don’t remember when I started reading exactly, but I know it was before you started trying to get pregnant. I loved reading then because we were in the same boat, wanting kids, but waiting, and then we had our daughters close together, my older daughter is 3.5 now. It was fun to watch your pregnancy and see what I had to look forward to . :D. Looking forward to reading what is ahead.

I honestly didn’t think you would talk yourself into having kids as quickly as you did! Ha ha. You were so against it for so long! You became obsessed with the idea about the same time I did and I totally copied you when I decided to start a blog – you were my inspiration. 🙂 It’s been fun following along all these years! And your adorable kiddos just make your life seem even more incredible! I hope you keep on keepin’ on. If you keep writing, I’ll keep reading. 🙂

Been reading from the beginning. I first encountered you on myspace in some LDS chat groups (so much drama). I was newly married at the time and your statement on there made me realize I wanted to wait on having children and get my education first. I’m happy to report that I finished my Bachelor’s and will be graduating Pharmacy School next year. We have a daughter now who turns 2 in June. Still reading and enjoying!

Girl, I’ve been following you since I was Hanging With Mrs Cooper so it’s been forever. I think we’ve been blogging for the same amount of time and I’ve been there through your first pregnancy and was elated to meet you a few years ago with your baby girl in NY at BlogHer. Your blog has been one of my favs and I know that whichever direction you take it, it will be nothing less than AWESOME!!!!!!

I don’t even have kids yet and I’m wondering where my free time has gone! Catching up now…and loving the evolution of your blog. Keep at it! 🙂
