How to Make the Perfect Movie Night Gift Basket

Movie nights are so special in our house. And I’ve seen what a gift they can be in other families. If you’re looking for a fun housewarming gift, wedding present, or a gift basket idea, you should definitely consider making a custom gift basket for family movie night. You can easily spice it up with some custom gifts using a Cricut machine. Here’s how mine turned out.

I made an extra large gift basket but you could easily make one smaller with one less blanket. Here’s what I included in mine…

Family Movie Night Gift Basket

  • An extra large wire basket
  • Large fluffy blanket (for filling)
  • Throw blanket
  • Medium sized popcorn bowl (to customize with vinyl)
  • Medium ceramic bowl (to customize with vinyl)
  • Family Movie Night Journal
  • Popcorn
  • Candies
  • Drinks

To customize the bowls I used my Cricut Maker. The words were small enough that a Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine or Cricut Joy would work too. I used black vinyl for the “Movie Night” and custom family name, and white vinyl for the word “Popcorn.” I typed up the words in Cricut Design Space and used fonts I had stored: Walt-o-graph, Riemann Theatre and Phosphate. You can also find a lot of Free Images to customize yours on the Cricut site.

My Cricut Maker cut out the vinyl then I weeded the extra winyl off (actually I forgot this step once, then had to re-do it).

I stuck the words to the transfer tape then from the transfer tape to the bowls.

Easy peasy and a great family gift. Have questions? Drop them below!
