You Need to Try These Easy Princess and the Frog Beignets
You know we love Tiana. Princess and the Frog is one of our family’s top Disney movies. And I thought for our movie night snack recipe this week, and for the final Friday in Black History Month, we should pay tribute to Princess and the Frog. It’s an easy Princess and the Frog beignets recipe you can make with your kids while watching Princess and the Frog on Disney Plus!
Oh and make sure, if you haven’t yet, check out our list of 21+ movies to watch on Disney+ during Black History Month and beyond!
When we were in the middle of our biracial Disney Princess series Tiana was one of my favorite photoshoots. And when you’re dressed like Tiana. Or watching her movie. Or listening to the catchy songs, it’s even sweeter when you have a beignet in your hand.
On our sail aboard the Disney Wonder Disney Cruise we were able to visit Tiana’s restaurant. And of course try some of her “man catching beignets.” We’ve been hooked since. I’ve only made real beignets a couple of times many many years ago, and it’s not the simplest recipe. Even with the yummiest beignet mix.
But if you’re having a Princess and the Frog party, or are looking for some Princess and the Frog dessert ideas for a movie night, these easy beignets should do the trick. And even be simple enough for your kids to make.
You know me, and that’s a big requirement for any recipe I share.
Easy Princess and the Frog Beignets Recipe
Princess and the Frog Beignets
An easy take on Tiana's "man catching beignets." These slightly green easy beignets are perfect for a Princess and the Frog party or a Princess and the Frog movie night. No need for hot oil as these are made in an air fryer.
These are my favorite kind of recipes because they don't take a bunch of ingredients and there aren't many steps. Make these together as a fun family activity, or let older kids practice independence.
Ingredients
- 1 8-count Can Flaky Original Biscuits
- Green Decorating Sugar
- Powdered Sugar
Instructions
1. Quarter each biscuit (cut it into four pieces like a pizza).
2. Pour some of the green sugar into a bowl and roll each piece of biscuit in it, thoroughly coating it.
3. Place 8 biscuit pieces in a flat layer in the air fryer basket and cook at 375 degrees for 2.5 minutes. Flip the biscuits and cook for another 2.5 minutes.
4. Remove from the air fryer and dust with powdered sugar.
