Beautiful Diaper Cakes from Gift The Bambino
Welcome to the party!! Would you like some cake? What better way to kick off a baby shower? Even a virtual one.

It’s from Gift The Bambino, an online store that sells the most BEAUTIFUL diaper cakes I’ve ever seen.
I made a diaper cake once. And it sucked, then I made another diaper cake, and it was much better, but NOTHING compared to these. The cakes I made just used diapers and little flowers and other things. But these cakes… These cakes are much more practical.
They’re made with receiving blankets, spoons, socks, bodysuits, washcloths, bibs, and other goodies that your baby needs… Oh, and of course DIAPERS!
Want to see Ladybug’s? Gift the Bambino sent us one for our baby shower! It’s sooo beautiful and it goes great in her room. So great that I don’t dare take it apart. Who needs extra blankets and diapers when you can have this gorgeous decoration in your room?
Some people are different though. My friend I made the first diaper cake for kept hers together, my other friend used the entire thing! I guess I’m not very practical cause mine is sitting up on Ladybug’s ledge.Now just check out this extravaganza…
Lauren is the woman behind these beautiful baby cakes and other goodies. She also sells lollipops, donuts, and like you saw, cupcakes. Do you know ANYONE who’s actually FROM Delaware? Well, she is! She says she’s an entrepreneur at heart and crafty by nature so those two aren’t so much something she thought out, just the way she is.

“I started making diaper cakes nearly two years ago,” she said. “I didn’t use any tutorials or anything and had only seen one previously. The cakes are not extremely hard to make but the pops, cupcakes and other items are a little difficult. I always say ‘Onesies weren’t made to be cupcakes, ya know?'”
Lauren is 27, just a couple of weeks from her second wedding anniversary, and she and her husband have a pet rabbit named Dizzle.

Lauren is still a Future Mama but since she spends about 50hrs a week with kids, and has worked with kids for years in daycare, party planning, and other things, she had some great tips for this mama-to-be!
{New Mama Advice}
1. When your baby is old enough, teach him or her fall asleep without you by their side. This will free up time for you to get other things done, veg out or spend time with your hubby.
2. Don’t fool yourself into thinking your baby can’t wriggle or roll his or her way off a high surface. In the first few months, it’s easy to get used to them being basically immobile but once they learn to move about they progress FAST and they don’t care if they’re 3 feet off the ground or not.
3. Don’t rush to turn the car seat forward-facing. Baby is a lot safer in the rear-facing position for a lot longer than is typically recommended.

“Enjoy the little things and don’t worry if things are not perfect – having baby brings a bit of chaos into the home and during the adjustment period I remember how I stressed over how things just didn’t get done because I was too tired to do them and really only had enough energy for taking care of baby.
Now that I am on baby number 4 I am able to let go but after my first I had a hard time letting go and just going with the flow. I felt I needed to be the perfect mom, wife and homemaker and get everything just so and it just wasn’t possible for me in the beginning. I wish I had just enjoyed the first month more and realized it’s ok if stuff didn’t get done right away – it would get done and it would be ok.”
Recently I’ve become all about organic stuff….food, cloth, house cleaner….so I am going to have to go with the Custom Organic Beach Cake. It’s really cute and cross-gender as well

New mommy advice: 1. Learn to let other things go and cherish each moment with the baby, and get every ounce of sleep you can.
2. Be willing to ask for plenty of help when you need it.

New Mama advice….. This was told to me not to long ago. Do not let anyone tell you that you hold her to much. Hold her, love her because one day you may wonder where the time went.
Take the time to enjoy the little things with her. Do not get so busy with life and work that you forget to stop and take time.
Momma advice-
You don’t get an instruction manual when you leave the hospital with the little one… and it is the scariest thing ever. They are going to watch you put the babe in her car seat, wheel you out, then let you get in the car and that is the end of it. I just about lost it when they let me leave with my daughter without telling me a whole list of what to do and what not to do… my daughter is not 14 months and I am still looking for something to come in the mail. When you feel like you need help, ask for it! Don’t think that asking for help or accepting help makes you less of a mommy then anyone else, because that is not true!
There will be a time where you are going to want the moments of constant crying vs. total silence! That was something that no one told me, how scary absolute silence actually was.

This is really more labor and delivery advice than new mama advice, but it’s something I wish someone had told me, so I’ll share. If, by chance, you have a c-section, you will still bleed. A LOT. And nurses will come in periodically and clean your crotch and change your pad for you. It’s humiliating….but it does feel good to be clean.

My word of advice would be: swaddle that baby!! I can’t believe what a difference swaddling made with my son. Once I got him on a schedule and starting swaddling him, he slept longer and sounder and just seemed so much happier! 🙂

The first good advice that comes to my mind, and it is probably soooo obvious but needs to be paid attention to, is to get as much sleep before the baby comes as possible. I have a 3 yo and a 17 month old and the one thing I miss more than anything in the world is SLEEP!! I haven’t slept a full 8 hours in over 3 years!

My advice to you is:
In the beginning, don’t sweat the “small stuff”! If you don’t get in a shower during the day, it’s okay. If you don’t get the dishes done, it’s okay. If the house isn’t always clean, it’s okay. Just enjoy every minute with your little “bug”. It goes by way too fast!

Here is my new mama advice: No matter how hard it gets, no matter how tired you may be, sit back and enjoy the small things that can go easily unnoticed, especially during lack of sleep and stress that so often happens with a new little one. Try to remember what her little hands feel like at 3 in the morning, and remember to take in the moment when she first smiles at you after you have had the worst night of your life. It’s hard but it really does go by so fast.

Some of my best new mom advice. Take time for yourself and don’t stress about everyone (especially your husband) doing things your way. Allow your husband to do things with the baby his way. If the childs clothes don’t match or he feeds the baby off schedule there is no harm done.

my advice is follow your instincts. New moms are constantly questioning themselves. Also, take people’s advice with a grain of salt. Take the bits you really like and ideas you really like and go with them. I still do that. If a friend has a great idea, I use it!

Chocolate Butterflies Baby Cake is really beautiful.
I really like the custom organic baby beach cake. I’m glad to see that they make organic ones. Sometimes I see these cakes and I think to myself “it’s a great idea but such a waste.” I’m happy that this is not the case with Gift the Bambino. Since I am having a fall baby in NOV… and so close to winter, I would go with this cake. Custom Organic Baby Beach Cake. Simple fact is, it would remind me of the beach being here at Fort Drum NY. My advice is to get newborn photos taken with a photographer within the first 2 weeks – and try to get a package where you come back once every few months to chronicle your baby’s first year. AND – GET IN THE PICTURES!! Even if you really don’t feel like it – you’ll regret it later if you don’t!
