Winter is not my jam. In fact, it’s probably my least favorite season. If it weren’t for the holidays, I’d want to be a bear and hibernate until it passed.

My husband and I lived in Utah for the first part of our marriage and I absolutely hated the snow. I couldn’t wait to leave Utah, and move someplace without the cold, fluffy stuff. It would make it easier to drive, easier to get ready for the day, and less work shoveling. We decided Austin, Texas, looked nice, and we’ve rarely seen snow since. Nine years and two kids later, we still don’t miss the snow, but we do remember how fun and magical it was when we were kids. Last winter, we planned a trip to Utah to visit family for Thanksgiving and hopefully let our kids see their first snow. We arrived at the Salt Lake City airport, rented a car from Alamo Rent A Car, and make our way to Grandma’s house.

There wasn’t any snow on the ground when we got there, but before we left the kids not only got to witness their first snow, but they got to play in it. They happily shoveled it, made snow angels and even went tubing down a big snow hill.

If you’re like me and are not a big fan of winter, let me tell you, planning some fun in the snow does help. Head over to the Alamo Scenic Route and check out my new blog post on the perfect family winter travel bucket list!

I’m not a fan of winter either, although since where I live (in South East England) we don’t get a lot of snow, it’s a novelty when it comeds! Love the picture! 🙂 I still have photos from the year we had a lot of snow when I was a child.

Snow fall is really magical! I have experienced snowfall all my life but my kids have never since we moved to Mexico. We love the beach very much! Maybe next xmas i will make them see a white christmas!

It sounds so fun. I like winter, I like the snow if I could spend all day indoor, next to the fireplace 🙂
The photo is so sweet.
