*I wrote this post in partnership with HP!

I have a couple different obsessions going on in my life right now. One of which is backing up my photos five different ways (no lie), and the other is strategizing how I’m going to decorate my new house. Aka studying Pinterest.

The builders finally broke ground on our new place, and we’re hopeful we’ll move in in October, or if the get behind, at least before the end of the year. Meanwhile, I’ve been trying to rid my house of things we don’t need,  slowly make a plan, and collect things to make our new house a home. I’m no home renovator, and thankfully, with a brand new place, we shouldn’t need much of that, but I am up for some DIY decorating ideas.

Decorating with printable crafts

Right now I’m getting a kick out of decorating with printable crafts. Especially photo crafts. I can be kind of a photo snob when it comes to large prints, or pictures I want to display, but for smaller snapshots, or things that won’t be displayed in prime locations, I’m ok with experimenting with home or cheap prints.

The nice thing is for the first time ever, I actually have a nice home printer that I can print my own crafts from. I love cute little inspirational quotes in frames, or printables for specific rooms. Here are some ideas I want to give a try:

And these are so darn cheap and simple, I don’t know why I can’t sprinkle them around the house: wood-and-ribbon-photo-craftVia

As you may remember I was sent two HP products to try out last month, these are really proving to come in handy as I make wall decor plans. Recently I was able to print on-the-go using my HP ENVY120 e-All-in-One printer to make Lil’ J’s banner for her birthday party.

As always, I was running behind on preparing for her party, but I did pull it together in a week vs a day like last year. I bought the PDF pattern on Etsy via my phone, and used ePrint to have it printed and waiting for me on my printer at home. I could have sent them to a lab but I was really curious to test the quality of the printer and it came out very nice! I accidentally tested the double-sided printing feature as well, which could prove convenient for something I make in the future.

hp envy 120 e all in one printer I cut out the triangles, hole punched the ends, then strung twine through all of them, to make the Rapunzel-inspired banner. On her birthday I hung it up outside her room so she saw it when she woke up and knew exactly what it was. It was a hit at her party too!

Cute right?

There are lots of other little crafts I want to do with her, or around the house, and I feel like a world of options are opened now that I have a decent printer/scanner. And I don’t know about you, but considering all it does, I was surprised by it’s $249 price tag.

Now I’m going to get to work on at least one of these projects, hopefully two, find a way to make them easier, and share a tutorial soon. Stay tuned because in that post I’ll also include a giveaway for an HP ENVY x2, and HP ENVY 120 All-in-One Printer, and a Snapfish Giftcard! I received those same products as a part of participating in this campaign on behalf of HP.

JAYDA! You actually used her name 🙂 I’ve always just “known” her as Lil J! I noticed how you were so free with using Ty’s name. Good job Mom and Dad. Nice names.

Baby Making Mama says:

Haha, yea I shared it on another post way back when. I’m thinking of nicknaming her Jay going forward to kinda go with Ty’s nickname but I’m not sure. haha. Lil’ J Big T Jay/Ty. We’ll see!

these are adorable!!

Baby Making Mama says:

Thank you! She loves it!

Hello Jennifer…I am a long-time reader but first time poster who means no offense.

Way, way back in your blog archives you had a post about how you are in this (blogging) for the fun of it and are not in it for the fame, freebies, drama etc. THAT is what made/makes me keep coming back to your blog. I love the realness. I have read every single post of yours. Every one!

Recently, there have been a few brand/product-selling posts. Nothing wrong it, but the style is so obviously different from the “real” you and the pitch so blatant, it just doesn’t feel right. Take it or leave it, but perhaps you can start these blog entries with the disclaimer that this post is brand/product-centric?

I may be the only one who feels this way, and you are more than welcome to ignore me 🙂 I just genuinely feel the posts which are really just product-pitches wrapped up in your words, don’t do you or your blog justice.

Baby Making Mama says:

Natasha, thank you so much for your comment! And for reading every single one of my posts 🙂 I can assure you I’m still not in blogging for fame or freebies! haha. I get several pitches a day for items to review or give away and I accept maybe 1 in 100 (seriously!) I pick which ones to accept usually based on what I’ve truly find helpful, and what I think you all would find helpful (hello awesome printer to print pictures of our families!) and based on what I can give to my readers (hello printer/ laptop combo!), in addition to how I can make it “me” if that makes sense. I’m not sure if you saw my first HP post with the video of my daughter and I but that was something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, and this review opportunity made it so I actually made it happen, and it’s a video she and I will enjoy a long time.

I’ve been meaning to post about her birthday party for almost a month now but it didn’t happen until now. I guess I could have made the post all about that but crafts were also on my mind too. And if you’ve read my blog awhile you know I can be scatterbrained.

So I’ve posted more reviews than usual lately but that’s mostly because I have to set deadlines for them, and my other posts get pushed aside by new baby, work, secrets etc. But I’ll be back in a routine soon and on a more regular schedule.

Thanks for your comment though. I hope you’ll feel comfortable commenting on some of the ones you like in the future too. It’s nice knowing people are out there. 😉

PS: I added a notation to the top of my post per your suggestion.
